Peachy Micheal, great plan to get more up to speed on Houdini in general terms tonight. Any best tutorials you can recommend when it comes to this area at all, then I can have more time to fiddle in detail?
I'll do more digging as sure i saw someone fiddling with real world MRI data (the on instructables of all places), just becoming common place in architectural design using real life geospatial data. Yup here's at least one of them, sure I saw a different better one before. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-convert-medical-scan-data-into-a-3D-printab/ [instructables.com]
See if any veterinary or zoology teaching college's, Zoo's even, might help out on the animal front, then can donate back to saving those rare species if idea's become commercial.

More sneaky, cheeky ideas, does anyone have any experience of EEG and Real World - RT Sensor interaction in Houdini?
Some would link into current AR better, but equally current VR initially, but another R&D tech idea, equally brill for blind accessibility is a dynamic physical display, that could be equally an alternative to what we might currently perceive as a Holographic Display/AR, great for us all with peachy sight too. Thing is tech has caught up to some extent with stuff I've had kicking about for years, just now, what is possible, is just not being applied as it could be quite yet by anyone, at least from all I have researched.
Heck give me a forum & do I gush or what, he..he

Hi All,
Ok, more of my sneaky cheeky idea's. Two of the things that caught my attention about Houdini is the procedural environment combined with character Muscles and FEM.
http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/character/muscles [sidefx.com]
Now I've got some rudimentary Human MRI data converted to relatively low resolution meshes (already been messing with quad upresing) to play with thanks to some lovely Japanese Academics. http://lifesciencedb.jp/bp3d/?lng=en [lifesciencedb.jp]
I am looking for like data on as many animals in existence and other human body types/Races etc, etc, as well as extinct. I know the Smithsonian have this groovy project here's a scan of a Woolly Mammoth, just bones obviously, it might be overall surface scans than component part (not had a chance to check yet) https://3d.si.edu/explorer?modelid=55 [3d.si.edu]
1.) So first question is better sources of actual data rather than clever sculpting from reference, ideally initial non-commercially available for free. Or equally academic or commercial organisations willing to allow me access to develop my ideas.
2.) Its not clear if the http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/shelf/muscle_frankenmuscle [sidefx.com] is actually any geometry object or just the muscle geometry objects generated as Muscles by Houdini. So obviously I want to be able to give real muscle, etc data the same properties, turn them into such things.
I will also be repurposing nerve and circulatory system meshes for real-world application use, the why on having as much real world scanned/MRI and such data as possible. Equally real-world application will need to be lightweight so it's also looking at ways to use all this data to grow bones including engineered internal structures and Mechatronics. In fact grown complete characters that exist both digitally and physically. Still allowing artist input and workflows for Zbrush, Maya, Game Engines etc, etc. Their are equally real world applications for Blind people and better disability accessability and a whole lot more.
The project idea's working name is Replicant X - System, wonder where I got that from, he..hee
So lots of help really welcome.
Cheers,
Sam

Technical Discussion » Giving Houdini assets & or Projects, Cloud Brains?

Hi all,
Does anyone have any experience of using Houdini with Cloud based parallel processing services (not Render Farms, nor Game Servers). The sort of stuff used by the Science community for Real-Time remote machine/deep parallel learning & A.I ?
However assets and projects being able to take their cloud brains with them, into say Game Engines & Platforms (part local distribution with say a add on Box) and beyond.
Just got some sneaky ideas, that creates parallel entities in the Real-world that co-exist in the digital & a tad more than that to be frank, he..he
Cheers,
Sam

Yup was just checking that myself before finding this on the forum, so thanks all. And brill found the HDK Doc's, I'll do some other posts on the specifics of some of my daft idea's as I'll need quite a bit of lovely help from you super experienced folks! https://www.sidefx.com/docs/hdk/_h_d_k__intro.html [sidefx.com]

Awe, does not surprise me in the least Rob, thanks loads to the both of you for the peachy welcome.
I actually vaguely remember doing something in my Avid/Softimage role to do with working with Houdini in the pipeline years ago at Escape Studios [pearsoncollegelondon.ac.uk] in London, so I've always likely known more than I let on. Why on having some groovy ideas Houdini & SideFx immediately sprung to mind.

Super, Danke Marc,
I had actually download OBS for its live streaming capabilities, put parked it for the moment as it was not emmediately obvious it had any functionality on the mouse/key click recording/displaying, so I'll do a bit more digging & fiddling thanks to your recommend.
I definitely push any processing to GPU a given, abliet working on a cranky old laptop that's barely coping with anything I remotely do, let alone anything challenging, is as frustrating as heck. Let's put it this way doing this rudimentary test fiddling in other apps was completely crashing it let alone trying to capture video on top of that, would be impossible. So heres hoping on some paid work soon coming back after disability, so I can have the best hardware & software to get groovy with like I used too.
(The initial fiddling for Replicant X - System [artstation.com] )

Hi folks,
As I used to do training on the Softimage products, review and devise Instructor Certification too on the tecky side, I thought once up to speed I'd do some tutorials and record me running through any toutorials out their to review them, to see what might be able to be improved upon.
Anyway hit the most simplest of snags, can I find the screencapture software I used to use, can I heck. It was really nice and simple capturing video, audio, keystrokes, mouse (displaying them nice and visually), Direct X, OGL, but really super simple.
Any recommends would be peachy, Ideally next to nothing on cost, as coming back after a spell out due to disability and not working yet.
Cheers,
Sam
